One Stop completes restaurant expansion

The Kenmare One Stop Burger Shop can now accommodate reunions, meetings, birthday parties, baby showers or other gatherings in a new addition, completed last week and opened to the public on Mother’s Day.

Field trip gives 5th graders insight to flowers, plants and gardening

The Kenmare fifth graders tested their green thumbs last Wednesday with a visit to the Garden Center greenhouse in Kenmare. The kids studied plant parts and plant growth earlier in science, so getting an introduction to live plants was one reason for the field trip.

Quilt Inn motel goes smoke-free

“It’s been a long process,” said Janeen Melgaard, manager of the Quilt Inn in Kenmare. “It took over a year, but I’m happy we finally did it. Guests call now to make reservations, and they’re happy it’s smoke-free.”

Fitness instructors organize fundraiser for movie theater

Local Zumba fitness instructors Chris Christensen and Amy Harris lead their high-energy classes four days a week. When they do slow down to relax, they enjoy a movie at the Kenmare Theatre, so when the theatre board announced the need to purchase a digital projector in order to show new releases and keep the doors open, Christensen and Harris wanted to help.
