The new Kenmare Theatre shows the best of current release movie titles. The smell of fresh-popped popcorn once again permeates the air of the newly renovated Kenmare movie theatre. The new Kenmare Theatre was opened in the spring of 1999 in the same building as the old theatre. Most of the old is gone, replaced with new. The front of the building has tinted glass doors. The lobby includes a full-service concession stand and handicap accessible bathrooms.

The theatre's viewing area features comfortable seats, each with its own cup holder. The walls are lined with maroon satin drapery. Moviegoers enjoy the show on a 10 foot by 20 foot screen, with a stero surround-sound system. The theatre was upgraded in 2012 when the film reel projector was replaced with a digital 3D projector.

A painted mural from the original theatre was restored and fills a wall of the inner lobby.

"This is the nicest little theatre in the state," proclaimed the theatre contractor who installed the equipment during the 1999 renovation. His words remain true today.

The Kenmare Theatre is classified as a "first-run move-over" theatre, and featured current movie titles within two to four weeks of their release from the studios.

Private parties are welcome to book the theatre.
