New calendar set as school counts down to summer

The countdown to summer vacation has started for Kenmare Public School students, but they must be ready to return to classes on August 18th, according to the calendar adopted by the Kenmare school board during a regular meeting held April 19th.

Mouse roars out of Canada

Just as the National Weather Service predicted, water keeps roaring down the Mouse River out of Canada, and for the first time since flood control structures were built there in the early 1990s, a voluntary evacuation of Mouse River Park has been ordered.

Renville Co. water board works with several agencies to control the Mouse River

Mouse River Park has been a favorite recreation site of area residents for over 100 years because of the way the Mouse River meanders around an oxbow there, but management of that river flow is not strictly under the local control of those who know it best.

Drive-in becomes One Stop Burger Shop with new ownership

The Kenmare One Stop corner stays plenty busy, with the clothing and work wear sales, laundry facility, embroidery service, and rental storage units all in high demand. Now, owners David and Penny Sigloh invite their customers to swing by for a bite to eat at the One Stop Burger Shop, most recently called the Chill-n-Grill and known to Kenmare’s middle-aged residents as Liver’s Drive-In.
