If fishing is for you, then grab your poles and head to one of the surrounding fishing holes in the area.
Lake Darling is located on the Upper Souris Refuge, 34 miles east of Kenmare. It is open to fishing from 5:30am until 10:00pm daily. This lake contains northern pike, walleye, perch, bullhead and smallmouth bass. Camping is not allowed.
Also part of Lake Darling is the Greene Crossing approximately 15 miles north of Lake Darling on Highway 28.
Grano Crossing is located about 11 miles west of Lansford. This is between the Greene Crossing and Lake Darling.
Northgate Dam is located 6 miles north, 1 mile west, 2 miles north, and 1/2 mile west of Bowbells. It contains walleye, largemouth bass, bluegill, trout and crappie. A campground with electrical hookups is available.
Powers Lake is located on the south edge of Powers Lake. It contains pike and perch. Campgrounds are available.
Smishek Lake is located 4 miles northwest of Powers Lake and contains walleye, perch, northern pike and bluegill. Campgrounds are available.
Residents and nonresidents, age 16 and older, must possess a valid North Dakota fishing license to fish any of these waters. Purchasing fishing licenses online for over the phone. Licenses are valid for one year starting April 1st. Move information is available online at gf.nd.gov/fishing
