NDSU hires Kenmare grad as football athletic trainer...

Mason Ankenbauer was applying for jobs all over the country when he received a call that made him very happy.

Mason Ankenbauer was applying for jobs all over the country when he received a call that made him very happy.

Ankenbauer, a 2013 graduate of Kenmare High School, and son of Todd and Charlene Ankenbauer of Kenmare, was offered the athletic trainer position with the North Daktoa State University Bison football program.

He said he is officially employed by the athletic department and works full time for the football team.

“We take care of people to prevent injuries on the team,” Ankenbauer said. “We take care of hydration and bracing.”

Two years after starting his college curriculum at NDSU, Ankenbauer landed a student athletic trainer position in 2016. In 2018, he became a graduate intern and two years later, he is the head trainer...
