The Kenmare Association of Commerce kBay event, Kenmare’s own auction extravaganza, is scheduled for next week.
Check the ad on page 7 of today’s issue and then visit the businesses around town to bid on the items and services they’re offering.
You’ll find everything from gift baskets to dinners and an entire prime rib.
You can keep going back to your favorite items, too, to check your bid and see who’s competing against you. The bid sheets will be posted in each business until July 12th, when the kBay festivities conclude in grand style in the city park.
The action starts that night at 5 pm, with continued bidding on all the listed items and last minute additions until 6:30 pm. Bring your pen and be ready to track your purchase!
Members of the Kenmare Association of Commerce will serve a free barbecue dinner with burgers, hot dogs, beans, fruit and ice cream bars to everyone to show appreciation for their customers, beginning at 6 pm.
At 7 pm sharp, winners of the silent auction listings will be announced--and expected to pay. Several businesses have announced a specific designation for their auction proceeds, with several local organizations and programs as the recipients.
Shopping the kBay Silent Auction will provide you with quality goods and services, AND benefit other community organizations--and the deal is sweetened with a free meal served by the Kenmare Association of Commerce.
But the fun doesn’t stop there.
Kenmare’s kBay night is bigger and better than ever. Kids can enjoy a fun day on July 12th with free swimming, hot dogs and pop at the city pool from 3 to 5 pm that afternoon. Then, everyone can make a splash at the dunking booth down at the park from 6 to 7 pm and sponsored by the Kenmare City Pool staff and lifeguards.
At 5:30 pm, try your luck at the lawnmower obstacle course races downtown. Teams of two will make their way through the marked course, with the blindfolded driver following the verbal directions of his or her partner. The riding lawnmower is provided and the laughs are free.
The auction announcements begin at 7 pm, but don’t plan on leaving if you miss out on your favorite items because the city park will be the scene of live country music later that evening. Dakota Rose (the Larry Nelson band) has been booked to perform under the big top tent starting at 6 pm, and the show continues into the evening.
Make the downtown square your destination for Kenmare’s kBay night, and bring the whole family, Tuesday, June 12th!
