Kenmare City Council members approved a special-use permit Tuesday night to Great Northern Trucking for a private RV park at 492nd St. NW.
A public hearing was held to discuss the request, its possible impacts and who might be living there once the project is completed.
“It meets all requirements for an RV park,” said city building inspector Don Siebert. “It meets the setback and it allows additional space, which is more than the ordinance requires, and a septic system has already been approved by the health unit.”
Siebert recommended to the council, however, that the RV park be limited to employees of Great Northern Trucking.
Joey Matejovsky represented Great Northern Trucking during the hearing. He answered questions council members had regarding the request.
