Bombers writing new history as new team takes the court

Fans may not know many players on the court for the Lewis & Clark-Berthold varsity boys basketball team right now. “We have a lot of new faces this year,” said head coach Brock Teets. “I think we had the biggest turnover in the state as far as our varsity roster goes.”

Fire destroys King home Sunday night

A fire Sunday night destroyed the David and Stephanie King home about 11 miles south of Kenmare, one mile west of the junction of ND Highway 50 with U.S. Highway 52.

Refuge again has friendly face to greet the public

The Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge, just across the lake from Kenmare, has a friendly face to directly welcome the public again with Jennifer Jewett, travel specialist and education and outreach coordinator for the Souris River Basin Complex. “I want people in the community to know there’s someone up front now,” she said, laughing. “The door’s not going to be locked when everybody’s out in the field!”

Berthold welcomes new bank

Amid frustration and dismay from customers, Bremer Bank closed the doors at its branch in Berthold on October 29th. However, State Bank & Trust of Kenmare-Berthold Office opened for business in the same location on November 9th, offering full banking services Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.
