Honkers will play different style from past few years
The senior Honker volleyball players promise the crowd will be entertained at the matches this season. “The fans are going to see some ridiculousness,” said Halie Nelson. She shook her head. “The varsity is just nonsense!”

Young team to take the field for Honkers
With only four seniors and two juniors returning to the Kenmare-Bowbells-Burke Central 9-man varsity football roster, head coach Courtney Seime knows he’ll be counting on strong performances from the sophomores and, especially, the 12 freshmen who suit up for practice every day.

Kenmare School still in search of a math teacher
Some of the KHS math classes will follow a standards-based curriculum this semester with homework and tests like usual. The students who excel in those classes and need to be challenged will be presented with enrichment materials, while students who struggle to master math concepts and skills will be supported with additional lessons.

Thefts from garages and vehicles at Donnybrook put residents on edge
Several of the 70 or so residents of Donnybrook say they’re now locking their doors at night after intruders entered garages and vehicles around town during the early morning hours of August 15th.

Calls for ambulance run about one a week
“It’s not all blood,” said Carol Kilene about her volunteer service for the Berthold Ambulance. “People are so afraid and they tell me, ‘I just can’t handle blood,’ but 95 percent of our runs are not blood. They’re for someone who is sick or needs a ride to the hospital or has fallen and broken a bone or they just don’t feel good.”
