KHS junior gets his chance to compete for the fans
Chad Perry, a junior at Kenmare High School, is one of the biggest fans for any Honkers’ sport. He can be seen at the home events, cheering teams from seventh grade through the varsity level, but his physical condition prevents him from wearing one of the maroon and gold uniforms on the court, field, mat or track himself.

Kenmare invention in Walmart contest
Duane Ingerson of Kenmare hardly sends text messages or uses Facebook, but he’s counting on friends, relatives and business associates around the country to do both those things and vote for the pan lid-holding device he entered in Walmart’s “Get On the Shelf” contest.

Philip Zimmer of Kenmare is walking around these days like a new man, delighted in every aspect of life as he hears sounds--a zipper on a suitcase, a bird singing at a city intersection, his grandchild’s voice--for the first time in years, or ever, thanks to a cochlear implant.

Berthold edged out to fourth place at State B
After a tough overtime loss to Beulah in the state Class B semi-finals on Friday at Grand Forks, Berthold finished in fourth place in a 52-50 defeat by Shiloh Christian on Saturday.

City of Berthold applies for $1.6 million grant to purchase land for lagoon expansion
The City of Berthold and 5Stone Development continue to discuss details of the plan, but the city is proceeding with a $1.6 million grant application to purchase land necessary for a lagoon expansion project.

Bombers in the State B
The Berthold boys basketball team punched their ticket to the Class B state tournament last week for the third time in four years, defeating Rugby in semi-finals and Bottineau in the Region 6 championship game to advance.
