The schedule for Kenmare’s annual Pioneer Day, planned for Sunday, July 10th, at the
Starting at 2 pm at the Niobe Hall, Bob Barr of the ND Pottery Collectors Society will present a historical and visual program about the major producers of pottery made form
Following the presentation, Barr will identify and evaluate pottery shared by Pioneer Day visitors. The public is invited to bring in one or more of their unidentified pottery pieces for Barr to review. He will also evaluate and answer questions about the pottery.
Individuals are reminded to transport and watch their pottery items carefully, as the NDPCS, Lake County Historical Society and facilitators at the event cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged pieces.

While the Pottery Road Show continues at the Niobe Hall, the ever-popular hymn sing for all ages will begin at the
Kids can enjoy old-fashioned games from 4 to 5 pm outside the white schoolhouse, and the log cutting contest starts at 5 pm.
Several area residents will share their antique tractors in a special display, vendors will be hawking their wares and food items, and “old time” music will be performed live throughout the afternoon. Joel Dennis Photography will be set up at the Village as well.
The popular pig roast dinner will be served under the tent at 6 pm for the price of a free-will donation, and the Lake County Historical Society fund-raising raffle drawing will be held at 7:20 pm.
The fun continues into the evening this year, with the live performance of the play “Wrong Side of the Tracks” on an outdoor stage in front of the Norma Hall, beginning at 7:30 pm.
This one-act comedy, directed by DeVonne Hanson, features local actors and actresses deciding which side of the tracks is the best for their future happiness. The audience is guaranteed to laugh at the antics of the “good girl”, the cowboys, the sheriff, the dance hall girls, and one pushy mother.
