The new Kenmare Theatre shows the best of current release movie titles. The smell of fresh-popped popcorn once again permeates the air of the newly renovated Kenmare movie theatre. The new Kenmare Theatre was opened in the spring of 1999 in the same building as the old theatre. Much of the old is gone, however, replaced with new. The front of the building has new tinted glass doors. The concession stand is new. There are new handicap accessible bathrooms adjoining the front lobby.
Everything in the viewing area of the theatre is new. The new comfortable seats each have cup holders. The walls are lined in maroon satin drapery. And, the 10 foot by 20 foot movie screen is new, as is the stereo surround sound system. The projector is newly rebuilt. "This is the nicest little theatre in the state," proclaimed the theatre contractor who installed the new equipment. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7:00 and 9:15 pm, and Sunday and Monday at 7:00 pm. Special show times and matinees are also scheduled.

Call 385-4433 for current movie titles and show times. The Kenmare Theatre is classified as a "first-run move-over" theatre, meaning it can feature current movie titles within two to four weeks of their release from the studios. Future plans for the theatre include restoring the glory to the original neon marquee on the front of the building.
