There’s nothing like an EF3 tornado tearing through the countryside to spawn stories. I’ve talked with members of the three households involved, some of the scores of folks who arrived to clean up, the National Weather Service staff sent to analyze the mess, and plenty of people who watched the storm from various angles.

On a regional television news broadcast this week, I heard the sports anchor talk about the transition from high school basketball to baseball and track seasons. He said something like, “Basketball’s over.”
